Tauqeer Nasir's style of acting can only be termed as top notch. The way he immerses himself in any role is a feat that perhaps only few can claim to master. Initially it was the ever-sulking 'angry young man' image that shot him to stardom. But, over the years, he has matured and has given fine performances in a variety of roles. From an angry young man of Parwaz to a rustic village Robin Hood of the blockbuster Rahein, Tauqeer Nasir has been able to dish out hit serials every once in a while. In a nutshell, he has proved his mettle as an outstanding actor with a remarkable versatility. • Born in Dera Ghazi Khan, he got his early schooling from DG Khan and Multan. Later he joined the Mass Communication Department of the Punjab University and did his masters in 1981. But journalism was not his cup of tea. He performed wonderfully in Panah, Aik Haqeeqat Aik Afsana, Samundar, Dehleez, Dard Aur Darman. Recipient of both the Pride of Performance and Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, as a matter of fact he was the youngest to have pocketed Tamgha-e-Imtiaz.

Do You Know the History of the ATV? I Was Surprised

ATVs are becoming popular in the transportation industry today. The acronym ATV stands for All-Terrain Vehicle. As the name suggests, they are intended for off-road use on trails and can take you on adventures far away from home and the road. These types of vehicles are designed for interactive riding. Drivers must be able to shift their weight  freely in all directions, depending on the situation and type of terrain.

 ATVs are more popular for trail riding, hunting, farming and other recreational uses. Some  define them as the modern, mechanized horses that offer a new brand of adventure and the ability to go places that are difficult for even horses.

The most common type of ATV sold is the utility type. These are the traditional type which are widely used on and off the road. The other type, the sports-type, is much more popular to hobbyists. Many use them to race or compete with other ATV owners.

Just like the regular cars, sports-type owners can modify and customize some ATV parts for added performance. Some examples of ATV races and competition are ATV motocross, wood racing, desert racing, hill climbing, ice racing, speedway, Tourist Trophy, flat track, drag racing and many more.

The advent of the modern ATV started as early as the year 1983. The main idea was adopted from its earlier version called the "Quadracycle". The company Royal Enfield started making improvements on the simple versions of non-powered Quadracycles which also resemble  the modern design of quad-bike.

During the 1960s, many manufacturers followed by producing the same off-road vehicles that has the capability of crossing swamps, ponds and also can travel on dry and rough surfaces. The body was made of hard plastic or fiber glass and had six-wheels of which all were driven, and all with low pressure (approx. 3 PSI).

Instead of having the typical motorcycle-type handle bars, they were equipped with steering wheels or a control stick. The production of these vehicles was prominent in America.

It became famous with American and Canadian hunters and for some who enjoyed doing fun trail rides. After several years the Japanese auto manufacturers took over with the development of the ATV and started developing three and four-wheeled versions.

One of the largest innovators of the three and four-wheeled ATVs was Honda. They led the revolution of the modern day design we are now familiar with. The company introduced their first three-wheeled ATV, the ATC90, which was used in several famous hollywood movies, like James Bond: Diamonds are Forever as an example.

 The design of the ATC90 was patterned from earlier versions of the ATVs that had large balloon tires instead of having tires with mechanical suspension. During the early 1980s, mechanical suspension and lower-profile tires for the ATVs was introduced.

Honda again led the innovation by releasing the Honda ATC200E known as Big Red. It was equipped with both suspension and racks making it the first three-wheeled utility ATV. Many companies followed, except Suzuki. Since Honda was able to established their name brand on the industry many competitors had a very difficult time selling their own ATVs.

While Honda was leading in the industry for producing three-wheeled ATVs, Suzuki tried to find their own way into the industry and did so by introducing the development of four-wheeled ATVs by releasing the QuadRunner LT125. 

This was intended as a recreational machine for beginners. Many companies realized that the four-wheeler was starting to get a lot of attention in the market so most of them built their own models to compete in the market, including Honda.

The industry has grown to large proportions, many companies have joined the competition and are developing new features for the machines. The ATVs are really helpful, especially with oil prices going up, we can say that they are highly economical. ATV enthusiasts have found a voice in their local communities through ATV clubs. The political clout of a lone ATV rider is next to nothing, but an organized group of off-road enthusiasts can make a difference in local and regional legislation. ATV riding clubs influence local policies on ATV use, safety, and trails. Regional and national ATV organizations work through local ATV clubs to influence state and local policies. You can help keep your freedom to ride by linking up with other like-minded ATVers.

With conflicting agendas, supporters and environmentalist groups often clash over local land use. Environmentalists want to reserve wilderness areas as off-limits. ATVers want access to backwoods trails that take them away from it all. Although environmentalists often blame ATV riders for damage to the natural habitat, most ATV riders are big supporters of environmental protection. They ride only on designated trails and are careful to make as little impact on the land as possible.

ATV riders share a vision to protect their right to ride, build new trails for use, and keep old trails open. Riding clubs make this vision a reality by allowing off-road enthusiasts to pool their time and resources. Together they can make a positive impact in the community, gain access to land for off-road vehicle use, and maintain the local trail system. The network created by off-road clubs strengthens the influence of ATV riders in the state and local community and across the nation.

As a group, ATV riders can build respect for off-road vehicle recreation and establish a positive image and voice in the community. They can also promote safety and environmental responsibility for all ATV riders in the area. Off-road clubs that promote safety and respect for the environment will go a long ways in protecting their right to ride.

ATV youth safety is a major focus for family-oriented ATV clubs. Youth riders are closely supervised and encouraged to follow ATV safety principles. Riding with adults and other kids is a great way for younger riders to learn responsibility while having fun.

Yamaha Unveils 2010 YFZ450X ATV

A year ago, Yamaha took the wraps off a brand new 450 sport quad that was so exciting that ATV Sport magazine named the YFZ450R its "Sport Quad of the Year."

The ATV featured a lighter chassis, higher-performance engine, upgraded suspension, improved ergonomics and several other upgrades over the standard YFZ450. Motocross racers and dune riders gushed about the machine and raved about its prowess, to the point where trail riders and others who purchased a standard YFZ couldn't help but to feel a little bit jealous.

"Where's our faster acceleration?" they asked. And suddenly the ergonomics and suspension that felt so right on the standard YFZ450 ATV now felt dated after knowing what else was possible.

Yamaha folks dodged the direct questions, and talked about the new R version as being a special edition of sorts. But they also seemed to avoid eye contact when confronted about the possibilities about a slightly more narrow, trail-oriented version of this upgraded YFZ. Clearly, they were hiding something - until now.

Big blue has taken the wraps off its 2010 ATV lineup, and the star attraction is a new model called the YFZ450X. By doing so, Yamaha did more than just claim its own stake to the 24th letter in the alphabet (think about it - DVX, DS 450 X, TRX 700XX, KFX, 525 XC, MXR, 450 MX, etc), it infused fresh life into a sport quad market that is threatening to grow stagnant, given the state of that end of the scene right now.

For 2010, Yamaha also added some new colors to a few of its ATVs, including the top Grizzly and the popular Raptor 250, while dropping two models that hadn't been pulling their weight the last couple of years (the Big Bear 250 and Wolverine 350).
